Monday 12th May is the Juniors AGM at the Cricket club 7.30pm. The bar will be open and it is very important that people try and make it down to this as it is your opportunity to have a say in the way the club is being run and find out what is the likely future of the club. We also need your help to continue to run and grow the club effectively. So please make it down if you can

Wednesday 2nd July at 6.30pm we are hosting a Start rugby course some people have already expressed an interest for this, could you confirm that you are still interested and that you can make the date ASAP. My email is robh.afrc@googlemail.com 07747 637410. We need a minimum of 12 to put on the course which is a 3 hour introduction to coaching, normally a lot of fun and a good way to get a taster for coaching

Finally next Tuesday at 7pm sees the beginning of the summer touch league. For those of you that have done this in the past this is a lot of fun not taken to seriously and a great way to get fit over the summer break. This is open to all of the adults/parents and also to players from U13’s upwards. We normally enter a number of teams of various mixes and I believe if the same as last year we get bonus points for juniors and females. All you need to do is turn up next Tuesday night a little earlier say 6.30pm and join up with a team. Also for the youth every Thursday night we have a fitness evening if anybody is interested again turn up at 7pm.”

Training and home matches are played at Aldershot Park on Sunday mornings during school terms from 10:00 to 11:30. Membership is £50 per season, but is only payable after a few of weeks, once you have decided you would like to join and includes a pair of club socks. This can be paid in two instalments (one in September and one in January) of £25

At Aldershot and Fleet we're committed to creating a Rugby environment where respect, team spirit, sportsmanship and effort are all nurtured, with all our players talents being developed.

There is a place for all levels of skill and experience at Aldershot and Fleet and we are keen to encourage all boys and girls to come and try Rugby whatever their level of experience.

The Rugby at Aldershot and Fleet starts with our under 6's, open to youngsters from the age of 5, which provides a fun play session based around the game we all love, played strictly for fun under the eyes of experienced coaches and aimed at introducing the game in a positive and fun way.

Indeed, Fun is what Rugby is all about at Aldershot and Fleet and is an element of all our activities, which aside from the Sunday morning sessions, last year included.

The U9's playing at Twickenham, the U10's,11's and 12's training on the pitch at the Madejski stadium with players and coaches from London Irish, before their clash with the Cardiff Blues. A club day out at the Harlequins rugby festival, followed by Harlequins v Munster playing over the road atTwickenham. Joint training sessions and fixtures with rugby clubs such as Alton, Basingstoke, Farnborough, Overton, and Reading. Not to mention our famous Christmas and end of season parties, panto's, fun days and a touch league during the summer, plus the club always enters a float into the Fleet Carnival. In all things we work hard to ensure that EVERYONE enjoys their Rugby.

We are building strong links with the local schools, working closely with the North East Hants, Schools Sports partnership and Coordinators (SSCO) to host festivals across the age groups and to give support to the local schools. Lately this has included Tag festivals for the junior schools and a series of full contact 7 a-side festivals for the 11's to 16's, (held under the lights at Aldershot Park during the dark winter evenings). Plus Girls introduction to contact sessions for the older girls, engineered to allow the teachers time to receive contact rugby training from the RFU, whilst the girls hit pads and get muddy knee's. After school's club development sessions and any specific help the schools need with any area of the game from tag to tackling and scrummaging.

We're recognized as being a progressive and ambitious club, setting high standards in everything we do, actively investing in our Coaches ongoing education and ensuring that all at the club are fully checked by the CRB and educated in all Child Protection requirements.

Our attention to detail, combined with our Fun approach, has earned Aldershot and Fleet Rugby Club the Seal of Approval from the Rugby Football Union as well as success on the field.

We look forward to welcoming you to Aldershot and Fleet soon.

If you are interested in playing or coaching, please contact the Junior's chairperson, Hugh Williams on 01252 621678

Remember Sunday mornings from 10 till 11.30am. This year we are looking forward to welcoming girls and boys of all ages and abilities between 5 and 17 to Aldershot park, for another fun packed and interesting season.

If you fancy giving it at go for the first time, please don't be shy it doesn't matter if you have never touched a rugby ball before, we would still love to see you. Everybody gets 2 or 3 weeks to think about whether they like it or not, if they don't no harm done, we aren't easily offended and we don't bite honest.
